August 15, 2005
From their recent US tour:
Tom joins Ben on "Beloved One" in Atlanta at the Tabernacle.

Check out the updated Discography with
new Tom Freund release "Sweet Affection."
The EP contains three new studio recordings plus five live performances
recorded during Tom's set at the Sweet Relief Benefit in Santa Monica.
It also features two duets with Victoria Williams!
"Sweet Affection" is the title and lead off track on Tom
Freund's 4th album of songs. This one is a half live, half studio
set that represents Tom's diversity and musical ingenuity. Half
of the proceeds from this CD go to Sweet Relief: A musicians fund
, started by Victoria Williams a decade ago, and who guest vocalizes
on two of the tracks here, "Gentleman Of The Shade" and
the stirring "Cant Cry Hard Enough." The latter is announced
by Tom on the CD as a duet that he was going to do with Victoria,
however she had taken sick with another relapse of MS just prior
to this benefit concert. Much to his surprise, however, The organizer
of the show, gets Victoria on the cell phone and places it to the
mic just as Tom sits at the piano , and the result is a mysteriously
moving "cellular duet" between Freund and Williams. Also
featured in the live set is a tantallizing Hedrixy mandolin wah
wah solo by Freund on "Francie from his album "Sympatico."

Tom Reunites with Ben Harper at Wavy Gravy's 69th B Day Bash with

a duo and released the album "Pleasure and Pain." The
Music continues at Tom will be opening the Ben Harper Tour from
July 12th through August 1st, from Vancouver, BC to Atlanta, GA.
Stay Tuned!
These are the headlines on ben's Homepage:
www.benharper.net
In response to the Zooma Tour cancellation, Ben
Harper has decided to do a
special tour of very small venues around the US and Canada to say
thanks to
his fans before he heads into the studio to work on his next album.
The
dates will commence in Vancouver, BC on July 12th and end at the
Tabernacle
in Atlanta, GA on August 1st, hitting 16 markets along the way.
The opening act is Tom Freund. Ben recorded an
album with Tom called
"Pleasure and Pain". It was pressed on vinyl only and
released by Cardas
Records in 1992, before "Welcome To the Cruel World,"
his Virgin Debut. The
record is an underground legend. Only 1,500 copies were made. The
record is
out of print and will not be released again. It was never officially
released on CD. Apparently it goes for as much as $500 on the internet...
